Congress Joe Walsh

Last Thursday in Wauconda at a town hall meeting Congressman Joe Walsh raised some eyebrows with the statement “We are all guilty of the troubles that we have.”

The Congressman added, “When we all bitch and moan and complain about what those guys in Washington are doing…it’s sort of our fault.”

Reminiscing about some thoughts his elderly Aunt used to share with him, Walsh said she often told him “You get the government you deserve.”

Following up on his statements at a Barrington Town Hall this week, Walsh added comments you might not hear in town halls in the D.C. area. “If were not happy in general with what those folks in Washington are doing, we need to do something about it…and Republican or Democrat, get them the heck out of there.”

Walsh was speaking about the difficulties for local small business owners as he told the crowd “I would argue that this country for too long has made it too difficult because of taxes and regulations for businesses to do work here. My Office in Fox Lake every single week gets calls from businesses from companies and we’re not talking about big-big-big corporations that want to get out of Illinois.

Walsh added a bipartisan note by saying big corporations have made out like bandits under the administrations of both President Bush and Obama.
